Research focus on understanding shopper value and its impact on product and brand choices as well as retailer and store selection. The tools primarily used in research include The Shopper Value Framework TM and the Values of
Shoppers TM, which was developed through my work at the University
of Tennessee, Knoxville, Shopper Marketing Forum.
Prior to my academic and research career, I was a senior merchandise management executive, consultant, and dynamic leader with extensive management background in consumer product, vendor relations and staff development. Visionary executive with wide-ranging experience in multi-discipline problem solving. - Defined and standardized the metrics, methodology for a major national retailer to drive Merchandise Planning decision making
- Designed and was Project Manager for the Planning Platform for a major national retailer
- Project Manager between brands and retailers including, Nickelodeon, Tabasco, Lego, M&M Mars, McGraw Hill Publishing and Revlon.

New Product Development
- Developed import programs for regional retailers including apparel, videos, cds, gifts and food products
- Directed and developed all private label celebrity products including, apparel, jewelry, cds, perfume and books
- Developed and managed 8 private label men’s apparel programs for regional department store including dress shirts, neckwear, underwear, sportswear and clothing generating over $10m in revenue
- Consultant with Mossy Oak Apparel for a women’s line of hunting apparel
Consumer Product Planning and Management
- Developed retail shop with-in shops concepts with Levi’s Dockers, Nike, and Mossy Oak Apparel
- Managed vendor relations, margin, sales, and inventory and marketing campaigns for retail stores for over 15 years
- Managed high trend import consumer products for the novelty gift marketplace
Process Management
- Developed the information process and communication matrix for implementing the planning division of a major national retailer. Managed the integration of information for the merchandise, fulfillment, finance, customer service, production resulting in integrated volume and margin management.
- Developed and implemented a cross functional inventory management system that integrated a multi-state and multi-unit retailer into a centralized merchandising platform and merchant office.
